Once Open Enrollment for 2027 is over, you cannot change your benefit elections until our next Open Enrollment for the following year, unless you experience a qualified life event.

What's changing for 2027
The truth is: Not much. And we think that’s a good thing.
At iCapital, we’re always looking for opportunities to grow and scale for the better – for you and for iCapital. We’ve reviewed our benefits program, thinking about where we are and where you are. We’ve determined that our benefits remain robust, competitive, and comprehensive, ticking the boxes of choice, flexibility, and sustainability for all. That’s why we’re introducing minimal changes to our benefits for 2027.
Even though our benefits are changing very little, you may consider whether what you have today allows you to scale your way in 2027. Review the updates below and then explore the whole site to be sure you’re making the most of what you have.
Health plan contributions
We strive to offer competitive, comprehensive, and cost-effective benefits. At the same time, we believe in the power of choice and defining coverage costs to differentiate our plans. This can help you make a more informed decision when it comes to considering your health care and spending needs in the coming year.
Due to rising healthcare costs, medical plan premiums will increase for 2027. Despite these increases, iCapital will continue to cover more than 80% of the cost of medical coverage. As you evaluate your benefit options, please review your 2027 payroll deductions in Dayforce.
It’s important to note that the medical plan options and what you pay when you receive care will remain the same. In addition, iCapital still contributes to your Health Savings Account (HSA) when you elect the HDHP medical plan option.
With an update to what you pay for coverage, you might consider taking a closer look at your options, which you can conveniently do right here.
You can view the 2027 medical rates, including both semi-monthly and biweekly rates, on the Documents page.
Transition to MDLive for telehealth
We know getting care when you need it is important to you. And sometimes, in life, having one reliable resource you can turn to is all you need.
For 2027, we’re consolidating our telehealth offering with MDLive only. As a result, First Stop Health will no longer be an option available to you. MDLive is available to employees and dependents who enroll in an iCapital medical plan.
With MDLive, you continue to have virtual access to board-certified doctors for non-urgent medical needs, like a bad cold or sprain even. Or simply for a gut-check on whether your symptoms are serious enough to warrant an in-person doctor visit.
You might consider downloading the MDLive app right now, so it’s there when you need it. Find links to the apps, and all of our benefit contacts, on the Contacts page.
Elimination of infertility diagnosis to receive fertility coverage in medical plan
A path to parenthood varies depending on your needs. For 2027, to help you gain easier access to fertility care you need, you’ll no longer be required to have an infertility diagnosis to use these benefits through our medical plan options.
Keep in mind that Carrot remains your first-stop for fertility and family-building needs, offering well-rounded and compassionate support for whatever your path may be.
New Cigna digital ID cards
If you (or any dependents) do not currently have medical coverage and enroll in it for 2027, you’ll receive a digital ID card, instead of a physical one. You may access the digital ID on the Cigna app.
If you are currently enrolled and don’t change plans for 2027, your existing physical ID card will work, but it is recommended you transition to the new digital version of your card. If you change plans, your will receive a new digital ID card ONLY.
After 1/1, you can only receive physical ID cards if you request them through mycigna.com
Increases to IRS maximum contribution limits for savings and spending accounts
The IRS maximum contribution limits for the Health Savings Account (HSA) will be as follows for 2027. Keep in mind that iCapital contributes to your account, whether or not you do, which counts toward the maximum contribution limit.
- For employee-only coverage: Up to $4,500
- For dependents coverage: Up to $9,000
The catch-up contribution remains $1,000 if you will be age 55 or older in 2027.
In addition, the IRS maximum contribution limit for the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Limited Purpose FSA is projected to be $3,500.
You may contribute up to $5,000 to the Dependent Care FSA.
Find out all you need to know about your options on the Savings & Spending Accounts page.
Increased contribution limits for commuter benefits
For 2027, the IRS is projected to increase the monthly pretax contribution limit for commuter benefits to $350 for transit and $350 for parking, allowing you to save even more on eligible commuting costs by paying with tax-free dollars.
Update to commuter benefit paycheck deductions for biweekly employees
Based on employee feedback, we've made an improvement to how commuter deductions are collected for biweekly employees.
Previously, annual commuter benefit elections were spread across all 26 biweekly pay periods. Beginning in 2027, commuter benefit deductions will be taken over 24 pay periods instead of 26, making your deductions more closely align with a true monthly cost.
As a result, your per-paycheck deduction may be slightly higher than in prior years, but your total annual cost for coverage remains the same. This change was made in response to employee feedback and is intended to provide a more consistent and predictable deduction schedule throughout the year.
Additional updates to keep in mind
In addition to the above changes to our health benefits, we’re updating the following, too.
- New! Pet insurance to cover your furry friend: You may elect pet insurance coverage through Spot to help offset the cost of care for your pets, as eligible for coverage. You can get a personalized quote by visiting spotpet.link/icapital.
- Transition to Bright Horizons Care Advising for elder care needs: Starting in January, Bright Horizon’s Care Advising solution will replace other elder care services.
- Business Travel Accident beneficiaries now in Dayforce: For your company-provided Business Travel Accident policy, you may now update beneficiaries in Dayforce.
Mind, body, wallet: Have you found all the ways to scale and grow?
As you’re checking in with your benefits, you might also check in with what iCapital offers to support your mind, body, and wallet. Often at no additional cost to you (which is a wallet benefit in and of itself).
